This Tudor house is easily visible from the main road. There is plenty of parking though the car park is well screened from both the road and the house and so doesn't intrude. Outside the house is the moat (presumably not defensive) with fish and ducks. Going over the stone bridge leads into a court yard area where you've got the choice of the usual NT shop, gardens or interior,

In the garden area, a knot garden has been laid out, though this looks the best viewed from one of the upper floor windows! There's then some interesting planting (though not particularly Tudor) and a grassy area where you and the ducks can eat your ice cream.

Inside you've access to a large proportion of the house. There are no furnishings inside, which makes it a bit difficult to visualise some of the rooms in use. However there are cards in most rooms explaining the room and giving you an idea of how the house developed over its history.

It has the feel of a museum rather than a house but looks perfect in its surroundings as you approach it.
